The Real Neat Blog Award

Thank you Fiona @ Book Worm Who Lived for tagging me! Now lets get started…

What is your favourite sequel?

Oh my… this is a hard one. Actually. No. It’s not. It is one of my most recent reads… and it is… A Court Of Mist And Fury! I was literally obsessed with this 623 page book for a whole week. I don’t think I have ever read a sequel so AMAZING! a_court_of_mist_and_fury_-_uk_cover

What is your favourite book to movie adaption?

Now this is definitely the hardest question… I don’t know any without saying Harry Potter, The Host, Percy Jackson (Which was horrible) or The Hunger Games. I have heaps of books I am looking forward to that are becoming movies but none of them really strike me as a ‘favourite’ so I will just choose the most obvious… Matilda! Ahh… Yesย  the childhood favourite of mine. Read it! Or watch it! Its good! The musical is good too…

We’re halfway through 2016 are you satisfied with your reading progress?

Well… I am not sure about that… my goal was 40 at first but then I changed it to 30 realising how little time I have on my hands during the school year. I have read about 17 out of that 30 which is pretty good ^.^ (The pictures are out of order but anyway XD)

What is your most anticipated release of the second half of the year?

DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!!…. Heartless by Marissa Meyer! My absolute favourite author who is soooooooooo good at writing! This one is about the Queen of Hearts before she became evil! Sounds soooo good!!!!

What are your favourite blog posts to write?

My favourite blog posts to write are definitely reviews as I can put my opinions on books and it feels so good to get it out there! I like it when people like and comment on them too expressing their opinions. It makes me so happy! I like reading someone else’s reviews too!

Are you active on any other platforms (Bookstagram, booktube)?

OF COURSE! How could I not?! I am currently on Tumblr… but I only re-blog stuff most of the time. I used to make the effort of making ‘Before Cinder’ (From The Lunar Chronicles) posts but I don’t do that anymore cause I love this blog so much! If you want you can follow me at LunarChronicles-101. I am pretty much only a stalker on Instagram and only like photos and things… But other than that this is Tumblr is all I have!

Which OTP are you obsessing the most over at the moment?

You’re seriously asking me about this? What book have I recently given more than five stars to in the last month. That’s right. A Court Of Mist And Fury! And I have the most obvious OTP that I am obsessed with. FEYSAND!!!!! Cause’ they’re both so cute together and it makes me have butterflies in my stomach. When they first met ( I had seen spoilers before about their relationship ) I was SCREAMING!!! Uhhhh Yess! Such a good couple!!

Credit to the amazing Taratjah for drawing this amazing picture!

My questions for you are:

  1. Where do you like to read and why?
  2. Why do you like reading?
  3. What book is your childhood favourite?
  4. ย When do you like to read and why?
  5. What book stands out the most from the rest in the last 6 months?

REVIEW- The Program by Suzanne Young

The Program

In a world where teenagers could not openly cry or mourn otherwise be at risk being put in the Program. A girl named Sloane bottles up her feelings and tries to put on a brave face, trying not to become a blank slate which is what all returners from the Program come back as. Under constant surveillance at home and at school, Sloane keeps her feelings buried only to reveal them to James, the only person she can be herself.

I’d first like to start out how much I wanted to read this, I’d read mixed reviews on Goodreads but I still really wanted to read it. Once I finally bought it it took me days to get into which then made me take a week to read it. I wasn’t really into this book like I was for ACOTAR and ACOMAF as I felt the writing dragged on a bit in some places such as the beginning (Part 1). Other than that the other two parts were done beautifully.

It was a sad book. I have to be honest when I say I didn’t cry. It wasn’t that sad but it did leave me frustrated and angry about everything that was going on (That’s what sad books do right?) Every time the main character, Sloane, did something the opposite of what I thought would happen, I looked up from the book and just breathed and kept reading. Especially when she had a melt down. I was like “Keep it cool. Keep it cool” then she didn’t keep it cool and it was like “Noooooo”.

I think for some people this book would make them cry (Some reviews said so on Goodreads) but not me. The writing was good and the characters were written perfectly which pulled me in from the very first page.

The end of the book, I did not see that coming! I was actually so surprised to see what happened compared to what I thought was going to happen but books can surprise you sometimes right?? To be honest I didn’t see it coming. It was more like “Surprise! This is whats going to happen from now on”. I liked the surprise. Still love it.

I rate this book a ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ out of five stars!

Apologies that this is so late (Like a day late) but I was so busy last week, as you could see by me not doing my normal random post. Thank you everyone for your patience and happy Saturday!

REVIEW- A Court Of Mist And Fury by Sarah J Maas (ACOTAR #2)

A Court Of Mist And Fury By Sarah J Maas

Feyre has survived Amarantha’s wrath and has returned to the Spring Court but cannot forget the terrible things she did to save Tamlin’s people. Now as a High Fae, no longer human, she has powers of the High Fae but still has her human heart… Feyre has not forgotten her bargain with Rhysand either, High Lord of the Night Court. She navigates his dark web a greater evil looms…

As I finished this book a couple of nights ago, as I was on the last page and finished that last line I was thinking “It can’t be over…” I closed the book so slowly and with my eyes wide open. There was at least five minutes worth of silence after that point. The fact was that I didn’t want it to be over. I didn’t want to let go of the characters and wait another year for the next book to come out. I swear I was dreaming of Feyre and Rhysand that night and what might happen in the next book. Come on Sarah J Maas! I need more!

The plot of this book was so different from ACOTAR as there was actually lots of different characters introduced and there were plenty of new places where scenes could take place. The descriptions were beautiful and I could just imagine every scene in my head which was great!

Sarah J Maas went deep with the characterization, telling us all about Rhysand’s past and how he came to be the person he was today. In ACOTAR, I never thought he was like that. It was so surprising and satisfying to see the true Rhysand come out.

As for Tamlin. Uggghh! I hate his guts! Feyre should send him burning… I seriously hate him. What he did to Feyre was a form of abuse! (I wont say much more because it would spoil it. Its early on in the book).

Good job for making Tamlin not like in the first book. I liked the twist.

That ending… that evil ending. Now I really HATE how the third book is not out yet! ONE WHOLE YEAR AWAY! That- What Sarah J Maas- did to us. Was so horrible. That was the only negative thing I could say about this book. GIVE ME MOREE!!

I give this book a ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸx12 out of five stars!

That concludes today’s review! Hope you enjoyed!

One Word: Food!

So today I decided to do a post about the one thing we all love, FOOD! We can’t live without it and it is pretty much the most common thing that comes in our lives (Except sleeping), we eat every morning, midday and afternoon. Now I will create a post with my favourite foods and ones we may all love!

My first food I would love to present to you is…

Cottage pie!

Also known as Shepard’s Pie…

Picture from

As a kid I used to love the mashed potato mixed with the mince meat, oh, especially with cheese melted over the top and put in the oven to crisp up. Sounds nice right? My grandma also used to cook it when we went to her house. You could just smell the deliciousness of it when you were a whole room away.ย You can find a recipe here.

Picture from

This was another one my grandma used to make for me (She doesn’t cook much anymore) and I sometimes used to cook it with her. I remember licking the wooden spoon and the bowl we had used to mix it all together just as she put the tin in the oven. I now mostly cook them to give to her! (They’re so yummy!) Find the recipe here.

Caramel Fudge!

Picture from

I always make this these days, sometimes it succeeds and other times it completely fails. But when I am making it I always get impatient with it getting up to the right temperature… I get it in the end anyway… PLUS it’s so yummy!! You can find its recipe here. (I never add the salt because I always put so much on when I do making it too salty)

Garlic Bread!

Picture from

At school, everyone is obsessed with garlic bread. Every day at recess and lunch you will see everyone lining up for garlic bread. Most people don’t get the chance to because they were too slow. I also share this obsession. When they stopped selling it at the canteen, it all went to hell. A week into the canteen not selling the garlic bread I begged- Yes, begged- my mum to make some for dinner (My begging succeeded). You can find a recipe here.

This is the end of today’s post. Sorry for not making it book related but I just had to make ONE post on my blog about food. Thank you for reading! Hope you enjoyed!

REVIEW- A Court Of Thorns And Roses by Sarah J Maas

I sincerely apologise for not posting last week but I was just so busy, I will not give you any more excuses and I am so sorry. I am going to be good from now on!

A Court Of Thorns And Roses by Sarah J Maas

When a huntress, Feyre, kills a wolf in the woods and a beast arrives at her hovel of a house demanding her to pay for what she did. She does this by letting this ‘beast’ take her into his land which she only knows from legends and myths. This ‘beast’ turns out not to be an animal but an immortal faerie (Faeries used to rule their world) named Tamlin… A wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands and Feyre must find a way to stop it…

So I was kind of laying off buying this book but you know how Tumblr always gets in the way… well it got in the way for me… everyone was raving about it and I just had to read it! And when I did… All my regrets bubbled away… (After reading this in two sittings on two different days…)

My first thing I absolutely loved about this book was Tamlin who was such a beautiful character. The author described him so perfectly and I was shipping him all along with Feyre. Tamlin is so protective over Feyre and it is obvious that he could win a woman over any day. Was their relationship more of infatuation? Was Tamlin only in love to get his curse broken? We’ll know in the next book…

Right in the middle of the book we were met with a character called Rhysand (I say ry-sand though its supposed to be rees-and) and I was immediately spell bound. I admit I was more concentrated on the characters then the plot but in the end I equally loved both the characters and the plot.

I just want to give Sarah J Maas a lovely clap, this is one of the books that I’ve loved that you’ve written. Thank you. I hope I like ACOMAF.

ย I rate this book a: ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ out of five stars!

Things to do in Winter!

It has come to my attention that people have not only been reading my blog but also liking my posts. I really appreciate it. I feel so good just to get this amount (Some of you will say its nothing but its big for me and this blog) and I have officially reached 100 LIKES. Yes. 100 LIKES. It feels like such a good achievement. Thanks everyone โค๏ธ

Things to do in Winter

So, I’ve decided to do a ‘things to do in winter’ post. Many of you are thinking “It’s not Winter, what on earth are you talking about?”, well its Winter for me and the majority of my audience is from Australia (I will put some in that classify for Summer as well! Don’t worry!).

Yes, this is the most obvious one but I decided to include it just because its what I’ll be doing these Winter holidays. So grab a good book and set up your ‘nest’ (That’s what I call it) and snuggle with a blanket. It always helps to be warm when reading! As most of you would know it rains most of Winter (Sometimes it snows! Only if we are lucky!) and who wants to go outside? Not me. Read a good book. Its words fill you with warmness..

ย Play a board game or computer game

If your family is like mine, we play board games when it is especially cold and no one has anything to do (Most likely when the power is out). Playing a game like monopoly, sorry, cluedo or game of life will certainly make you smile and get your mind off the dreary weather conditions.

If you’re wanting to be unsocial go for the single player option of a computer game! I’m sure you’d have fun then too!

ย Do something creative!

Being productive is the #1 thing to do in the holidays. So go get your paints or pencils from your cupboard and do something with them. You could paint your pet (Maybe not so successfully but have a go), paint your mum or dad (Oh my, this would end horrible for me) or you even draw a flower. All simple things but I find it relaxes me so much!

ย Call a friend!

I did this the other day while waiting for my mum, it was raining and so miserable. This especially helps if you haven’t really talked to them in a while. I think its the most relaxing thing to do, just get everything off your chest! It is also fun as well!

And the last thing to do is… SLEEP!!!

I hope you enjoyed today’s post! Thank you!
