It is time. I must be sorted into my houses. You must be surprised that I have not yet gone and sorted myself into houses for both Hogwarts & Ilvermorny… but I do not consider myself a true harry potter fan yet. I will do it to see what I am.

First Question!

Dusk or Dawn?

Dusk (So much prettier…)

Which of the following are you more likely to study?

Centaurs, Goblins, Merpeople, Ghosts, Vampires, Werewolves or Trolls.

Centaurs (They’re the part horse, part man one aren’t they?)

Once every century, the flutterfly bush produces flowers that adapt to their scent to attract the unwary. If you lured you, it would smell of:

A crackling fire, the sea, fresh parchment or home.

Fresh parchment (It’s just like smelling a book… yuuummm)

After you have died, what would you most like people to do when they hear your name?

Miss you, but smile, ask for more stories about your adventures, think with admiration of your achievements or I don’t care what people think of me after I’m dead; it’s what they think of me while I’m alive that counts.

Miss you, but smile (That’s the only thing I would wish of my friends and family. To just remember.)

If you were attending Hogwarts, which pet would you choose to take with you? (Too many options)

Black cat (Because I would name him sooty like my beautiful kitty I have currently. I would never leave him behind.)

A Muggle confronts you and says that they are sure you are a witch or wizard. Do you:

Ask what makes them think so?Agree, and ask whether they’d like a free sample of a jinx?, Agree, and walk away, leaving them to wonder whether you are bluffing? or Tell them that you are worried about their mental health, and offer to call a doctor.

Ask what makes them think so. (Well. I would probably be so scared about being so exposed and them asking me if I was but I’d get through it.)

Which of the following do you find most difficult to deal with?

Hunger, cold, loneliness, boredom or being ignored.

Loneliness (I hate being lonely, its really terrible being lonely but I sometimes like it. That’s only when I want to be though…)

Heads or tails?

Tails (Everyone always picks tails! I will choose the opposite… Unless that’s what everyone says…)

To be honest I have taken multiple quizzes on which house I should be in (Not pottermore)… I have been put in Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Gryffindor. Maybe I am all… but there has to be ONE just one…

REVIEW- The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

the nightcircus

A young girl, Celia, is thrust into a world she never thought she would be a part of. Knowing little about what her father sets her up for, for a challenge. A challenge that may set both competitors up to make horrible choices and make them ask too many questions causing the people they love to be in danger… This is Le Cirque des Rêves, only open at night and closed by dawn. A place where dreams are indistinguishable from reality.

Everyone relates this story to cake; how the icing is so much better than the actual cake itself. I’d at first seen multiple reviews saying that this book did not have enough of the plot and was more on the descriptive side, which I so happened to love. I had never a book with such beautiful descriptions, most are normally brief and get straight to the plot but this book made me smile and feel a part of this world. It was an amazing experience. It was if I was really there, at the circus and watching the many beautiful performances. It kind of seemed real.

Sometimes some of the scenes dragged and the descriptions made me feel bored but I just kept moving and look at me now! In the end that was what made the book amazing. If it was just the characters and no solid descriptions, I don’t think I would like the book.

Although I seemed more focused on the actual descriptions, the characters were pretty amazing as well. I especially love how Bailey was written and I liked how I got to see how he was involved in the circus. Celia was written perfectly. She was one of the characters who we saw in great detail about her life and how she got into the circus. (For some reason it made me think of Marty).

To be honest I wasn’t expecting much from this book. The mixed reviews made me hesitant to buy it but I am so glad that I did. The story was good and the descriptions made it even better, I would recommend this to anyone searching for a book that would just pull you right in (If you did like lots of descriptions).

I rate this book a 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 out of five stars!

REVIEW- Fairest by Marissa Meyer

Fairest by Marissa Meyer

Another story of the Lunar Chronicles world which tells you all about Levana’s life before Cinder even turned up. Her story is finally told and the world finally knows what made her how she was, a story of love, war and deceit.

I would say this book is quite amazing. As much as I hate Levana, I think that her point of view was really fascinating. The complexity of her character was so different to all the other characters Marissa Meyer had written. Compare Levana to Cress, both so different yet both so amazing.

I read this book six months after I read Winter so I didn’t have a clear idea of what she was like in the first book in The Lunar Chronicles. Since it had been a while, I didn’t really know what Levana would turn into. It came to me as quite a shock.

I felt sorry for her at first because all she wanted was someone to love and be with. Her sister and parents weren’t helping at all, after all the horrific accident that Channary had enacted on her.

Another thing was that it told the story of Cinder and Winter. I had always been wondering what happened to those two before The Lunar Chronicles. What got me was that Levana wanted to love Winter and Cinder (Selene) but the things that happened in the past held her back. She thought that Selene would turn out like Channary so she feared the past would come back to haunt her.

It makes me think that what if Cinder wasn’t Cinder and she was Selene locked up in a tower like Cress, kept away from public eye thought to be dead. At first I didn’t think Levana would ever do such as thing. But she did.

Overall a great book and is a must read for all Lunar Chronicles fans out there! I recommend reading this before Winter as I think I would have been more involved with the story but you can do whatever you want!

I rate this book a 🌟🌟🌟🌟 out of five stars!

REVIEW- World After by Susan Ee

World After by Susan Ee (#2 Penryn & the End of Days)

World After

A continuation of AngelFall, the first gripping novel in a brilliant trilogy. Penryn who just escaped from the aerie now must find Raffe and help him. Paige suddenly goes missing and all Penryn can think about is her sister and what may be happening to her. The streets are almost deserted and it looks as if everyone has gone into hiding, the angels are planning something. To get back at the humans for destroying their home.

You can find my review of the first book, Angel Fall, here.

I’ll start off by saying how much I loved this book. I loved it the same way I loved the first book. I was hanging on to every single word, it made me excited whenever Raffe was defending Penryn or visa versa. It was just so exciting. I didn’t want to sleep when I read this book. I just wanted to keep going.

Although we saw little of Raffe it made my heart flutter (Is that a thing?) every time he did turn up. I think Penryn got a little annoying. Its like “Hang on. Your sister is probably in the hands of an angel and you want to risk your life in this horrible apocalyptic world.” But I get it, the character still loves her sister and would chase her to the end of the earth even though it got a little repetitive.

There was one problem with this book though. The exact same problem the first book had. The author didn’t conclude it properly, either it was just a really mean cliff hanger or it just dragged me to want to read the third book (I think it was both). It again saddens me that I don’t have the next book waiting on my shelf, it would be great seeing all three books in a row and say that that trilogy was one of my favourites.

Overall, it was a good book. I recommend it to everyone! (Read the first book first though!) Anyone would like it and it is a twist on an apocalyptic story line. Ahh the angels will come and kill us all! Joking.

I rate this book a🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 out of five stars!

Until next time!

REVIEW- Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by J. K. Rowling

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by J. K. Rowling

A boy, named Harry Potter was put under the ‘protection’ of his uncle Vernon, his Aunt Petunia and his terrible selfish cousin Dudley when he was just a small baby. They keep him in the dark about something very magical until his eleventh birthday where he will finally discover who he is and where he belongs.

All I have to say is that it was probably one of the best books I have ever read. If I read this when I was younger I would have enjoyed it so much more but since I have seen all the movies about ten times each, I know the story line.

I still loved the characters and I think that reading the book gave me a better insight on what else happens in the books that is not in the movies. It got me thinking about if Vernon and Petunia actually did like Harry or not. It would have been an interesting point if in secret they did actually care.

Hermione seemed so much smarter than depicted in the movies and Harry seemed much more adamant to get himself killed or put him and his friends in danger. It didn’t seem so evident in the movies. Look at me I am comparing the books to the movies…

I know everyone has probably already read Harry Potter but I just want to express my opinions on it… I hope the books get better and better every time. I am most excited for the Half Blood Prince. XD

I recommend this to every single one of you if you haven’t read it. Even if you know the story line. (Sorry about the irrelevant GIFs)

I give this book a 🌟🌟🌟🌟 out of five stars.

What are you doing this summer? (Or if your region is not in summertime, what did you do last summer/plan on doing next summer?)

So it is currently Winter for me so  will be telling you about what I’ll be doing next Summer which is in the Christmas holidays for me (Why can’t I have a white christmas?!). I will probably be reading and going to the pool or the beach with my friends because its going to be so hot… I’ll have my birthday in Summer too so maybe I’ll have a party? I dunno…

How many physical books do you own?

Well… my book shelf is currently over flowing so I’d say over 100 books which isn’t much compared to lots of people. But books are my beautiful babies and I will never get rid of any of them. Except for my kidish ones I still have… I still want moooorreee!

Under what circumstances would you DNF a book?

I don’t like giving up on books but there is just sometimes when I don’t get into them at the start and then I still don’t get into them during the middle. I sometimes DNF because they get slow and boring for like half the book which makes me really really sad. 😦

What movie did you last see in theatres? Did you enjoy it?

*Laughs evily* Yes. Now. I saw Star Trek just yesterday. I do not know how to explain it except that it was wayyy better than the previous two reboot movies. I just want to chant *Another movie, Another movie, Another movie* because it was that good. It’ll be another three years until it comes out though so I’ll be finished school… Oh no. It’ll be like that for Star Wars as well… I don’t want to grow up >.<

Do you play video games? If so, on what console?

When I was younger like five years ago I used to play Minecraft. I was literally addicted to it for three years until I stopped because one of my favourite servers shut down. That was on PC. At the moment I’m in the middle of playing Assassins Creed 2 (Who says a girl can’t play those games) which is one Xbox 360.

What are your favourite things and least favourite things about blogging?

Lets do least favourite first. Deadlines. I hate it when I have to have a post done by a Thursday or Friday. And when I don’t have time to do it during exam time it makes me sad because I’m not organised enough. Just like now when I am writing this post three days late.

On to favourite things. I think I’ve answered this one before but I love making people happy and I like people looking at what I’ve written. I just generally love writing for people even when everything has gone off the rails like it has this month.

Tell me teaser sentence from a book you’re currently reading.

Uh oh. *Quickly grabs next book in Harry Potter series* (I haven’t started another book. Yet) Ok. “Not for the first time, an argument had broken out over breakfast at number four, Privet Drive”

What device do you use to write blog posts?

Computer! I used to write them on my iPad but that became a pain. Computer is soooo much better with writing blog posts. I mean why write with your phone when you can write on your laptop? (I only got mine recently).

Tell me a fact that any bloggers don’t know.

I have been to Narnia with my friends. We’ve been many times before and we mainly go there to skip class or to just have a fun time. (Its the main excuse we all use when someone asks where someone else is. We can all thank Soup for that one). Oh, another one, I completed my first year of Hogwarts on Friday with Harry and the gang.

If you could travel anywhere in the world in an instant, where would it be?

Can it be multiple places? I wanna go everywhere and see lots of different things. I want to go to the snow where the snow actually stays on the ground… I want to go Ice skating under the northern lights… I want to… I could go on forever. So, I don’t actually know where I want to go. Just somewhere other than this boring town.

What song is stuck in your head right now?

“That’s what I hear when you’re by my side
Yeah that’s what I hear when you’re by my side
But when you’re gone the music goes
I lose my rhythm, lose my soul”

Final Song by MO. I do not know why I am obsessed with this song. I have been listening to it on repeat for the last two weeks.
